An AI Workflow Intake Checklist

A useful AI workflow starts with a clear intake. The goal is to name the job, the raw material, the review point, and the smallest output worth testing.

01 Name the user moment first.
02 List real inputs and outputs.
03 Decide how the result will be reviewed.

Name the moment

Start with the moment where the workflow will be used: sorting a folder, drafting a reply, checking a listing, reviewing a proof packet, or deciding what to do next. The moment keeps the AI work grounded in a real action.

Map inputs to outputs

Write down the material that goes in and the useful result that should come out. Inputs might be notes, files, images, prices, examples, or messy drafts. Outputs should be specific enough to review.

Set the review rule

Every early AI workflow needs a human check: approve, revise, reject, export, or queue for later. The review rule keeps the system useful without pretending it can remove judgment entirely.
